Treacle Jr. plot

Totally unexpectedly, 40-year-old Tom one day leaves his young family behind to live on the streets of London. There he meets the fast-talking, childishly happy Aidan, the complete opposite of himself in every way. Although Tom initially doesn't want to know about Aidan, he doesn't care and follows him like a loyal dog. Soon their lives become deeply intertwined and Tom discovers that Aidan also has his problems; his girlfriend beats him up on a regular basis. Can Tom put his own problems aside to help his new friend? Will he ever return home and why did he leave in the first place?
