Tensed, Mia begs Max (David Warner), the building manager, to let her into the dead woman's flat. Once inside this strange yet familiar place, Mia recognizes the furniture as her own. The concept of the film is a bit on the complicated side and will mislead many viewers. The fictional concept of time travel is used very nicely to move through Mia's life, but it doesn't really play a role - no HG Wells or Time Traveler's Wife here. Also psychoanalysis in the literal sense. A well-developed mystery drama.

What I especially liked was that the different ages of the characters are very recognizable and very similar - not only the slightly younger and slightly older Mia, but also the child Mia look very similar. It often happens that a very large appeal to empathy is required, but not here. Cinematography and music are also very good. And very well played, above all.

A mediocre movie.

Dana Lustig insisted that the film's original title "Maya " be changed. The old-fashioned elevator in the movie serves as a time machine. This gives the main character Mia (Jodie Whittaker) the opportunity to right certain wrongs. This in the past, present and future. The beautiful Whittaker is assisted by Dougray Scott, among others. A fallen trumpet player. Scott took trumpet lessons from Guy Barker.

A film that is very difficult to place. It is anything but a thriller, science fiction or romantic film. The highlight for me personally was Whittaker, and towards the end of the film it turns out that she has been sleeping with her very own father Ludwig all along.

The film was nominated for a Raindance Award in 2011.

The story demands constant attention from the viewer because there is a lot of flashing back and forth from present to past and to the future. Unfortunately, the effect is a bit on the boring side, so that attention is not equally present everywhere. The concept is nice and the elevator as a time machine is well thought of. The only way out for the main character Mia (Jodie Whittaker) is to get rid of the man of her life in order to change her present and future. The ending has a very surprising twist when Mia discovers that the man is also her father. The different ages of Mia are remarkably similar which adds to the credibility of the characters. Mia also discovers that she needs to change something to avoid her later loneliness. 5/10
