La Terre Outragée plot

"25 years ago, life was sweet in Chernobyl."

April 25, 1986, Pripyat, Ukraine: Valery plants an apple tree with the help of his father Alexei and Anya and Piotr celebrate their wedding with friends and family. Then follows an explosion at the nearby Chernobyl nuclear power plant, followed by heavy rainfall. The local community, aware of the dangers, is evacuated four days later and Piotr participates in the firefighting operations. Ten years later, Anya returns to the disaster site as a guide. Piotr never went back and Alexei is missing. Valery, now a young man, goes in search of his stolen past. For all survivors, nothing will ever be the same.
