Chris Farraday (Mark Wahlberg) has long put his criminal past behind him, but when brother-in-law Andy (Caleb Landry Jones) blows up a drug deal for his ruthless boss Tim Briggs (Giovanni Ribisi), Chris is forced to do what he does once again. best bet - transporting contraband - to pay off Andy's debt. Great movie.
Mark Wahlberg is cut out for a role like this. He has taken on a similar role several times, but it turns out time and again that he does a great job with this one.
Other than that, it's a pretty good story that is quite exciting at times. The tempo is very high so that it remains captivating throughout the playing time, despite the fact that a cliché is thrown around the corner here and there.
In addition, it all looks fine, I think it is an atmospheric crime thriller that is slightly better than the average crime thriller.

No. This did little for me.
The busy jumpy scenario contains too much nonsense and stupid choices, and too little line and captivating characters. It's just not it all.
Contraband is quite professionally filmed and edited. But I wasn't drawn into the story or really captivated and caught myself too often in an "Oh yeah, sure..".
Not enough for me.
