Ai no Kawaki plot
When her husband Ryosuke dies of typhus, Etsuko moves in with her in-laws. She gets into a relationship with her father-in-law against her will. She is emotionally numb, although she gradually becomes fascinated by the gardener who is barely aware of this, because he in turn longs for the housekeeper.
