"Trouble travels together."
Thirteen-year-old Luli is tired of taking care of herself and fed up with her mother's weakness for alcoholic men. She decides to take matters into her own hands: she heads west to fulfill her dream of becoming a superstar. On her journey, she meets Eddie, a drifter angry at the rest of the world, and Glenda, a tormented but witty woman who takes Luli under her wing. Luli's witty humor, the help of Glenda, the frivolous Eddie and her own colorful daydreams protect her from the incredibly unpredictable group of people she encounters on her journey.
