In a luxurious villa on the Cote d'Azur, a maid has to look after four rascals whose parents are away for a long time. When the girl drowns through their faults, a bum moves into the house. This one starts a cat-and-mouse game with the frightened children.

Although a single moment when Delon's character shows some tenderness for
the youngest of the four appears to be able to muster, the intruder shows towards the
children especially brutal behavior. Delon in an unusual role of his, already in the villa
drinking, smoking and watching TV, by way of opportunity, in an ideal situation
delusion.
Delon also does well here, but the playing of all four children is also convincing
in this admittedly not oppressive but fascinating thriller.
