De Beslissing van Wim Maljaars plot

On September 2, 2008, Wim Maljaars (47) was found dead in an isolation cell. “Stuffed on a peanut butter sandwich,” is the official statement from the facility. Shortly before that, he decided to stop taking antidepressants. It is unclear whether his death is a direct result of this decision. It seems mainly the result of an unfortunate combination of circumstances and irresponsible policy in the institution. This documentary tells the story of Wim Maljaars. Of his life, dominated by delusions and psychoses. And from his death in solitary confinement, completely unexpected and in total solitude. At the same time, this is a film about the people who knew Wim, their struggle with his elusive personality, their feelings between doubt and guilt.
