Ein Mädchen aus Flandern plot
The German officer Alexander Haller falls in love with the Flemish girl Angeline, the 'angel of Loewen'. However, Haller can't enjoy his love for the girl much. After all, he was seriously injured at the front and could therefore only see the girl again in 1917. Only then could he describe his feelings and confess his love. But the happiness is short-lived. Angeline is suspected of committing sabotage and is arrested by the Germans. First she is locked up in a prison camp, only to be transferred later to a brothel. Here she meets Alexander again shortly before the end of the war. He is now being charged with undermining morale and also for allegedly helping an enemy wounded soldier. But the war is now almost over and they can only hope to be saved...
