Slumdog Children of Mumbai plot
Story of the brutal reality of the lives of four children in the streets and slums of Mumbai during the monsoon season. Seven-year-old Deepa lives next to an open garbage dump and walks barefoot through Mumbai's traffic to sell flowers. Deepa herself can be happy that she is still alive, because as a baby she was attacked by rats. Eleven-year-old Salaam has run away from his harsh stepmother for a week and now lives outside the central station. He has befriended Asif's gang. Hussan and Hussein, both eleven, live in ramshackle shacks on top of a huge water pipe.
