De Ooggetuige plot

Paul Anderson, who has been blind for 20 years, lives with his widowed father. One day he allows himself to be persuaded to undergo the famous Strampelli operation. Paul's operated eye is functioning, but his brain is unable to give meaningful meaning to the various visual stimuli. The balanced blind young man now resembles a mentally handicapped person who, in adulthood, enters the primary stage of a newborn who has to 'learn to see'.
