Le Secret de la Chambre Noire plot
Renowned fashion photographer Stéphane lives in seclusion in a Parisian banlieue in a large, dilapidated house with his seductive daughter and muse Marie. After the unexpected death of Stéphane's wife, Marie plays a fashion model every day for his lifelike daguerreotypes, which form a real obsession for him. Daguerreotype was a common method in the early years of photography that required models to remain motionless for long periods of time. Stéphane's new assistant, Jean, a young Parisian with little knowledge and ambition, falls in love with Marie and becomes increasingly disturbed by the long photo sessions she has to endure. Together, they try to devise a plan to escape Stéphane's obscure, dark universe for good. Meanwhile, Jean is also approached by some project developers to convince Stéphane to sell his territory.
