Griffin and Phoenix: A Love Story plot

Jeff Griffin (Peter Falk) has terminal cancer. During a lecture on death, he meets Sarah Phoenix (Jill Clayburgh). She has terminal leukemia. Ignored or reviled by their families, Jeff and Sarah turn to each other for emotional support. Together they decide to get the most out of his limited lives without taking into account what people think and what the consequences could be. At the same time, they fall in love with each other. The only limitation of their relationship is that Jeff is not allowed to visit Sarah in her final hours and vice versa.
