Bloom Towne is the sheriff of a small town controlled by the influential mayor Cavanaugh and his family. When Towne's sons Nat and Skylar accidentally shoot Mayor Dick Cavanaugh during a deer hunt, the mayor's family jumps to conclusions. Skylar is locked up in prison, but with Nate's help, he manages to escape. A manhunt begins for the two brothers, who have since fled. Sheriff Bloom's choice between protecting his children and upholding the law reveals old family secrets. The past threatens to destroy everything he loves.
