Bergblut plot

The highly educated doctor's daughter Katharina leaves the wealth and her parents behind in Bavaria to retire with the young South Tyrolean Franz to her parents' mountain estate. While Franz and his brothers are inspired by Andreas Hofer to take part in the freedom struggle and plunge into a hopeless war against the French and Bavaria, Katharina must fight for recognition from the remaining peasants. As more and more of the wounded return from the war, she takes care of them as a nurse and doctor.
