Het Zwijgen van Loe de Jong plot

Historian Loe de Jong became known in the 1960s as the presenter of the television series 'The Occupation' and later as the writer of 'The Kingdom of the Netherlands in the Second World War'. He becomes the national conscience of war, but he does not reveal much about his own deceased family, including his twin brother Sally. In this documentary, his granddaughter Simonka goes in search of the reason for Loe's mysterious silence and comes across a family story that is marked by lack, jealousy and feelings of guilt.
