Bill: On His Own plot

Bill is a mentally retarded adult who owns a coffee kiosk at the University of Iowa. He becomes disoriented when his friend and mentor Barry Morrow moves to Los Angeles. Bill's file is taken over by the young idealistic social worker Jenny Wells. While studying for his Bar Mitzvah, which he was refused at the age of 13 for his 'incompetence', Bill suffers from a depression that threatens to drive him back into helplessness.
