Katherine "Katie" Standish was raised in a strict New England town. Katie falls in love with slick commercial artist Peter Van Arden. The romance between Katie and Peter blossoms, until Katie becomes a victim of false information. This information convinces Katie that Peter is already married and that he is the father of two children.
