When the water rises, they must try to escape not only from drowning, but also from a bloodthirsty nine-meter white shark.

You won't believe it but I've seen this movie twice now and I'm taking off half a point. The first viewing I was probably drunk or in a very generous mood. Poor actors and unnecessary intrigue. Who cares about the love affairs between that young couple or the quarrel between those two criminals? When that Asian wants to tell that one guy that his girlfriend was still thinking about him, and he answers "I don't want to know!" I thought, "I don't need to know either!"

The shark still looks quite realistic, but of course such a large shark could never swim in a place where people can walk in water that is only up to their chest. We take for granted that the sharks in this film can roar. The waterproof car is funny, especially because the Gucci couple was able to escape through the skylight long before the shark appeared. At least they provide some humor with their bickering, because otherwise the film takes itself way too seriously.

"Dad, no. You can't, not with your leg!"
"My leg is exactly why I should go."
Yes, because who wants to live with an injured leg?

revised.

Bait 3D isn't exactly the most realistic shark movie, and that soon becomes apparent when this story includes both a tidal wave and a shark plague in a supermarket. Obviously the makers wanted to go far with the concept, and they went quite far. I like it, but apparently the majority don't.

Admittedly, the characters in Bait 3D aren't exactly the smartest of characters. Many decisions can be called quite arrogant or simply stupid. Sometimes to the point of frustration. The special effects are also not of the highest caliber. The opening is already very animated, and other kills may also come a little too clear from the computer.

If you dare to put aside the lesser points, of which there are quite a few, you will expect a very entertaining and fast shark film that does not last long and is full of events. Both the action scenes and the horror scenes follow each other in rapid succession, so that the film is never boring, and it is also shot with a tropical background.

The acting isn't brilliant, but the high amount of fodder to keep the viewer entertained saves the film as a whole. Sometimes it can certainly be spectacular, and that betrays that there was quite a bit of money in the film. Remarkable actually considering the concept is really stupid.

It's an entertaining, fast-paced horror film with a lot of action and little nonsense. It is also a film with a little too much lack of logic, a little too much stupidity and especially expressionless characters. There's plenty to criticize the film on, however, with Bait 3D it just looks really nice and that's the saving grace of the film.

Easy to digest Australian pulp.

Movies in this subgenre often tend to get quite pulpy due to, for example, not the best effects. Not a big deal, as long as you keep things entertaining. And Bait succeeds.

The shark varies between shots from pitifully fake to quite decent. Also comes up quite often. In terms of gore and gory, there is also quite a bit to experience here and there. Characters could have been a little nicer/more sympathetic.

Incidentally, I thought the scene with the Asian man in that homemade shark cage, ridiculous as the premise was, quite strong.

3.0. You can do much worse in this subgenre.
