Kaitanshi Jokei plot
We see sketches from the lives of people on the fringes of society in Hakodate, Hokkaido. A brother and sister are fired from their shipyard in Kaitan City. They withdraw their savings and climb a mountain to watch the New Year's sunrise. The planetarium manager can't stomach his wife's infidelity. A young fuel trader can't control his anger. A son who doesn't get along with his father doesn't even visit him on his return to the city. An old woman in danger of being evicted from her home also loses her cat.
