Westflug - Entführung aus Liebe plot
East Berlin, 1978. The waitress Anja has an affair with the West German civil engineer Michael. But then the Stasi finds her and they forbid Anja any further contact with Michael. So he plans to flee to the west with Anja's daughter. They are supported by Jürgen, an idiosyncratic and freedom-loving colleague of Anja, who is secretly in love with her. They will meet in Gdansk and travel on from there, but then Michael is suddenly arrested. Anja, Jürgen and Jule are taken by plane back to East Berlin, where they risk a long prison sentence. But then Jürgen suddenly springs into action and with a (toy) pistol he wants to force the pilots to land in West Berlin.
