Ex-moeder plot
The relationship between filmmaker Nadine Kuipers and her mother Wilma is complicated. Because of Wilma's drug addiction, they have not seen each other for years. Yet Wilma now plays a major role in the life of the documentary maker: the daughter is always ready for Wilma. And that, Kuipers discovers, is starting to break her. Should she continue to stand by her dependent mother, who could never have been there for her daughter? And where is her own life anyway? In this very personal documentary, Kuipers films a recent period in life with her mother and also uses her camera as a diary to record her thoughts. She films herself during countless telephone conversations that she makes for her mother and shows how she addresses her mother - often in vain - sternly. Something has to change, the devoted daughter realizes. But what? And what is her role in it?
