Ôoku plot
In a fictional Edo era, women rule Japan and men are coveted for their ability to father children. The tables were once turned by a mysterious epidemic, which decimated the male population by three quarters. The young Mizuno is admitted to the chambers of the female Shogun and must compete with 3,000 other men for the favors of Shogun Tokogawa Yoshimune.
