"Words make sense of a world that won't."
Young poet Ray Joshua deals marijuana in Washington and is arrested when one of his drug connections is shot. He disappears into prison and ends up between 2 rival gangs, who both want to attract him. He befriends one of the leaders and a social worker. When they prove convinced of Ray's poetry talents, they try to get him out of prison.
