Le Voile Bleu plot

A war widow has a stillborn child. She now decides to dedicate her life to the children of others and becomes a nurse in several families. Due to time or circumstances, she has to give up the children entrusted to her again and again. Yet she realizes that she has had a meaningful life in her old age.

A war widow who loses her baby in childbirth and devotes her entire life to caring for and raising children must have struck a chord.

Gaby Morleau is well cast and does her utmost to make it seem loving, but it is all a bit stiff and "contrived", even for the cinema of that period.

Jean Stelli made quite a few films. One that sticks in your memory was apparently not among them. Not even this "Le Voile Bleu".
