Die Stunde der Offiziere plot
On March 1, 1943, Henning von Tresckow places a bomb on Hitler's plane, but the bomb does not explode. On March 21, 1943, Rudolf Christoph von Gersdorff plans a suicide attack on Hitler during an exhibition, but Hitler leaves the building prematurely. A similar attempt by Axel von dem Bussche fails when the event is canceled due to an air raid on Berlin. The last hope lies with Claus Schenk Graf von Stauffenberg, who in charge of 'Operation Walküre' has access to Hitler's secret report room. The bomb exploded on July 20, 1944 in Rastenburg. After his return to Berlin, he leads the July 20 plot, which after false rumors and reports fails, because it is eventually revealed that Hitler also survived this attack. Four officers are immediately executed, many more after the mock trial before the 'Volksgerichtshof'.
