El Traspatio plot
"El Traspatio" tells the story of the tragic situation of the border town of Ciudad Juarez: Since the mid-1990s, thousands of women have been missing or found dead in the desert. Carrera provides insight into the complex situation surrounding the missing persons from three different perspectives. The idealistic Blanca Bravo is a policewoman and is tasked with tracking down the 'serial killer' of the missing women in Ciudad Juarez. Juanita, a young girl from rural Chiapas has moved to Ciudad Juarez to work in the maquilas. In addition, the idiosyncratic radio commentator Peralta gives his political commentary on the whole and especially on the corrupt political system.
