Bardsongs plot
"Whatever our souls are made of, yours and mine are the same..."
"Bardsongs" shows that the ancient wisdom of the African also applies to the Indian and vice versa. Whether you are Hindu, Christian, Muslim or Buddhist, Jewish, anarchist, atheist or animist; when it comes down to it, we all think the same about our existence. "Bardsongs" is a triptych of filmed folktales from different cultures: an ode to the external differences and hidden similarities of different worlds. "The Plastic Collector" (India) tells the story of a man who never judges the things in life - no matter how much fate sometimes challenges it. "Knowledge for Life" (Mali) is about a student who struggles with the question, 'What is the greatest part of all knowledge?' "Father, Daughter & Dzo" (Ladakh, Himalaya) is about a father who is naturally inclined to be kind and polite to everyone and everything, much to his daughter's growing annoyance.
