Le Jeu de la Mort plot
'Le Jeu de la Mort' is a documentary about a fake game show, 'La Zone Xtrême', in which the participants have to administer strong to even deadly electric shocks to another candidate… or follow their conscience and refuse. The program is a television adaptation of the experiment that Stanley Milgram conducted in the 1960s. It examined how long people obeyed an authoritative person who instructed them to administer electric shocks to people who answered questions incorrectly. Of course, the electric shocks were not real and the tortured persons were actors. The results showed that about 62% of the subjects allowed themselves to be pressured into administering lethal surges of up to 450 volts. On the fake game show 'La zone Xtrême', unsuspecting candidates are asked the same thing, but then encouraged by a host and a studio audience that regularly clamors for punishment for the unlucky candidate.
