"Darkest Africa's most daring hero!"

US Army pilot Captain Roger Drum shoots down an unknown plane, the pilot of which was en route to Africa to deliver a secret message to a group of bandits. Drum takes his place, but he has to make an emergency landing in the African jungle. Members of the Rock and Cave tribe, led by Princess Pha, rescue Drum and take him to their temple. The bandits, led by Boris, suddenly appear in the temple one day and Drum sounds the alarm with a temple gong, but the noise breaks the walls, burying him in the rubble. Natives manage to get Drum out of this rubble alive and then call him Thunda, aka 'King of the Congo'. Princess Pha does not trust Drum, because in her view he deliberately used the wrong gong.
