Marlene plot

When Marlene Dietrich plays the role of 'Lola' in the film 'Der Blaue Engel' in 1929, she is at the start of a glittering career. Josef von Sternberg, the director, persuades her to follow him to Hollywood. Just before she leaves, she meets the officer Carl. She realizes he is the love of her life, but chooses her career. She leaves her husband and daughter behind and starts a new life in Hollywood with her lover Josef.
