An action thriller/noir clearly inspired by the success of James Bond and Mission Impossible. You can certainly hear that in Stelvio Cipriani's swinging soundtrack. Also seen as a giallo and the Argento influence is indeed clear. Use of razor blades in the murders and even an animal name in the title of the film. It is certainly a unique giallo because the only one in which a victim is trampled by an elephant.

The plot is what you would expect from this type of movie. Namely that you can expect the unexpected and that is of course not a bad thing to keep it interesting. Here is also a contribution from Ernesto Gastaldi to the script, a name that recurs in many giallo productions.

The direction is excellent, although the editing and coordination with music sometimes comes across as a bit sloppy. I especially enjoyed the locations. Italy, New York in the early seventies, Kenya... impressive for what is said to be an Italian pulp film.
