Beshkempir plot
Beshkempir, the main character's name, means 'five old women'. There is an old tradition in Kyrgyzstan where the parents of a large family give a baby to a childless couple as soon as the child is off the breast. At the ritual transfer of the baby, five old witnesses wish the child good luck. Beshkempir grows up not knowing that he has been adopted. He's a kid like everyone else, a boy who gets into mischief with his friends. When he falls in love with Aynura, his best friend is so jealous that he calls Beshkempir a foundling and a pathetic orphan. This news turns his life upside down: he feels utterly alone, his friends have become rivals and to make matters worse, his beloved grandmother dies. But everything will be fine...
