Chitaem 'Blokadnuyu Knigu' plot
In Reading Book of Blockade, Aleksandr Sokurov has various people, actors, journalists, schoolchildren, students, military personnel, read parts of the famous book by Aleksandr Adamovich and Daniil Granin about the siege of Leningrad. The city was besieged by the Germans during World War II, a blockade that lasted for 900 days - from September 1941 to January 1944 - and led, among other things, to great famine in Leningrad. The long siege cost an estimated one million civilian lives, but the Germans were unable to break the tough Russian resistance.
