When Soldiers Cry plot
1965 South Vietnam. Two American soldiers are trapped in the jungle while the war is still in full swing. The only thing that keeps them alive is the promise to their family that they would return home at all costs. Private David M. Church (Doug Junior) wakes up after being knocked out to find his entire platoon dead, massacred by the Viet Cong. He has to walk for three days to get to the landing site, but on the way he encounters a wounded Viet Cong soldier. He decides to take revenge on him for killing his platoon by putting a bullet in his shoulder. When he gets closer he notices that the soldier is in reality an American 'tunnel rat' (Jess Weber). Mentally broken, he carries the American closer to the landing zone.
