A stranger named Silas flees from a devastating storm. Silas then finds shelter in Tom and Gillian's farm. Silas seems to be the only one who can help Tom and Gillian find their son. But besides the great storm, there are other extremely dangerous forces at work.

Definitely a nice film. Boll proves once again that he can make a good film with original and serious material. Final Storm does not excel in its direction, but manages to captivate until the last minute. The actors are well-rehearsed, the music is not annoying for a Boll film and I personally thought the last shot was very cool. The setting is also a bull's eye. The desolate feeling was clearly palpable. Still, Final Storm is not a high flyer like Rampage, for example. The camera work is often sloppy, the framing often just not right and the script could have been more focused on the apocalyptic instead of a lot of action and reaction between the protagonists. Still a pass for Uwe Boll. The fourth one I have given a film of his now. A neat 3* for this one.

Apocalyptic thriller that seems rather unconventional for the work of director Uwe Boll. He has not exactly delivered the most subtle work for this and The Final Storm therefore looks like a rather clumsy film with an intentionally fragile content. Viewers who are interested in the Doomsday concept will be disappointed, Boll prefers the romantic tension and mutual relationships between Steve Bacic and Luke Perry. After a while that turns out (predictably) very boring, specifically because Boll seems to proactively want to ignore any form of tension and/or atmosphere. As the finale progresses the pace is increased somewhat, but by then there is very little to experience within The Final Storm. Too bad, because Boll suddenly had a number of cinematic winners around 2007-2009. This film however seems ill-considered and uninterested, which was indicative of the declining quality of Boll that followed.
