Does anyone still watch Marco Ferreri's films? At least it's not raining here. Yet in the 1970s he was revered as a god by film buffs (like me). Imagination in power. I still find 'La Grande Bouffe' an iconic film of great beauty. Not least because he brings together four legendary actors in one film. That had never been seen before. This film also features two legendary actresses: Ornella Muti and Hanna Schygulla, a daring combination. Agree with cinemanukerke that the story, if there is one, is not very clear and can be explained in different ways. I leave all symbolism for what it is, but Ferreri's craftsmanship can still be seen and watching the beautiful Muti and the unfathomable Schygulla is a pleasure for the eye. No, maybe not a masterpiece, but a film that is still worth watching.
