La Ferme du Pendu plot
A farmer's children decide not to split up the inherited farm, never to get married. The sister is the first to drop out, the second brother hangs himself and the youngest also marries and renounces his inheritance. The eldest can barely keep the farm going on his own and wonders who will take care of it after his death.
