La Sentinelle plot

Mathias Barillet is the son of a diplomat, stationed in Germany. He arrives in Paris to continue his studies as an anatomical pathologist. In his luggage, after a strange encounter with a man on the train, the young man discovers a human head, which has shrunk just like the Jivaro Indians. At first he is disgusted, but then he becomes fascinated. Mathias investigates in the morgue where he does his practicum. It becomes an obsession.
