Jud Süss - Film ohne Gewissen plot
In 1939, actor Ferdinand Marian finally gets the chance of a lifetime to star in a large-scale film called Jud Süß. His enthusiasm soon turns into reticence and disappointment when it concerns a Nazi propaganda piece set up by director Veit Harlan in which he has to play a 'disgusting Jew' in the title role. Joseph Goebbels himself interferes and forces Marian into the role that would lead to Marian's personal end.

I thought it was really masterfully acted by everyone. The sadistic manic bully with deadly grin Goebbels. The intensely struggling with himself actor Marian. Who plays that drunkard in a masterful tragicomic way. Nice to see the war not from the perspective of violence and death. I've seen enough of that. But this angle, the Jewish actor who is abused for Nazi propaganda. That is refreshing and it produces a German masterpiece as far as I'm concerned.
