Jim "Nevada" Lacy wins $7,000 in a gambling saloon. At that time, Ben Ide also happens to take out $7,000 to purchase tools to mine his mine. Burridge has his henchman Powell kill Ide and Nevada finds Ide just as the posse arrives. Nevada is charged with the murder and arrested. Burridge whips up the crowd to lynch Nevada right away.
