Ikigami plot
In a fictional country much like modern-day Japan, the “Law for the Preservation of National Prosperity” applies. This law means that every child will be injected with a vaccine. However, one in a thousand will receive a lethal injection along with this vaccine that will cause their death sometime between the ages of 18 and 24. In this way, the government tries to let everyone enjoy their life to the fullest. At least until they suddenly die. Ikigami is the message you receive from a government official 24 hours before your death. After all, the people who will be victims of such a lethal injection will be informed 24 hours before their expected death that they will die. That way they can say goodbye to friends and family. Naturally, the family is compensated for the sacrifice they make to ensure the prosperity of the nation. But how do you spend those last 24 hours of your life? After all, you no longer have a future. Are you going to sit and wait for your death? Or do you deal with your past?
