Doc West plot
After two bandits raid the Santa Fe post office, Doc West gives chase to get his money back. Along the way, he saves the life of 12-year-old Silver and takes him to Holysand - a town torn by the battle for land between Nathan Mitchell, a wealthy rancher, and Viktor Baker, a farmer. At the local saloon, Doc West wins at poker and is accused of cheating. Sheriff Basehart intervenes and arrests Doc West to keep the peace. After his release, Doc continues his journey. When he finds his stolen money back, he returns to Holysand and asks the sheriff for help to catch the robbers. In turn, the sheriff can also use help to solve the problems in his town.
