Doctor John Brighton settles in a small town in Oklahoma after the death of his wife. There, things are controlled by the Dobie brothers, who have a ranch together. They've got the scabies at Brighton because he helped Charlie Smith, an Indian, when the brothers wanted to evict him and his daughter Maria from their oil-rich land. Smith shot Mel Dobie in self-defense. Cass Dobie heads for a confrontation.
