With the last convulsions of war week working on this film or documentary, completely unknown to me...? Because it is difficult to guess what it actually is with the black and white artwork that resembles Schindler's List and which does not contain much else. Just try is the motto.

It is striking in any case that the whole thing takes place in color, not really a point of criticism, but with the cover you create a black and white impression. In addition, in the sequel a lot of work will be done with archive images, which suddenly creates a great contrast between the film and the real images. . Why don't you straighten that out? Why not blend that together? And while I'm still dealing with the criticisms, I'll continue with them around this film with a TV-like appearance that appears very small in design, has no significant cast and relies heavily on the horrors of the archive images. As a result, the film seems very 'light'. Then there is the occasionally terribly restless camera work, which is really not okay.

Yet this is a criticism that should not be taken too seriously within a story that essentially went like this. It is interesting to say the least with the constant struggle of the medical staff who try to come up with solutions in a hopeless situation that sometimes feels unreal with sabotage, air raids and cannibalism. In addition, the Holocaust and the camps are always a stunning image of what man is capable of doing to another human being and the real images of Harrods are touching.

This modest 'TV film' cannot really compete with the bigger films about the Holocaust. Yet the message and the image are no less, so the film is certainly on a satisfactory course.

Dramatized documentary about the liberation of the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp (where Anne Frank also died) by British troops and especially their struggle to keep the prisoners alive, which was only partially successful. Their struggle to stop the typhoid epidemic and provide the prisoners with the right food to reduce the daily number of deaths is especially impressive. As a film, I thought it was worth watching until the last few images.
