Pesni Juzhnykh Morej plot

Ivan is Russian, Assan is Kazakh, and when Ivan's wife gives birth to a dark-haired baby, the jealous husband starts to suspect his best friend. This village vendetta lasts fifteen years; Ivan's son grows up to be a disobedient teenager who runs away from home, and the burden of Ivan's humiliation almost becomes too much for him. In this country, where Kazakhs, Kyrgyz, Russians and Germans have been forced to live side by side for at least a century, the search for one's own ethnic identity becomes a pursuit of happiness.
