I et Speil i en Gåte plot
It's almost Christmas, in a snow-covered landscape in Norway we meet 12-year-old Cecilie (Marie Haagenrud), her friend Klara and the rest of her family. They are all preparing for Christmas Eve. However, Cecilie is very ill and spends most of her time in bed daydreaming about the Spanish boy Sebastian whom she met on vacation last summer. One day Ariel (Aksel Hennie) appears in Cecilie's room. He is a little crazy looking man who claims to be an angel. He then shows Cecilie the wonders of life. Cecilie doesn't like it at all. Then they make a deal together, when Cecilie tells Ariel what it's like to be human, Ariel tells her about angels and mysterious secrets of the universe.
