De Boer Die Zou Gaan Emigreren plot

On New Year's Eve 2006, the characteristic cattle farmer Heijmen Brouwer (61) from Leusden takes the plunge. Together with his entire livestock, blind servant Hendrik (77) and new girlfriend Janine (42) he wants to emigrate to France. Boer Brouwer is fed up with the strict agricultural rules and the constant controls in the Netherlands. Starting over in France has always been his life's dream because "they still like farmers there". But soon follows a series of obstacles and problems. The camera registers just as mercilessly. The emigration seems doomed to failure. Yet it remains exciting until the end. Why is he going or not?
