Crime film with a repetitive character and scenes that do not always make sense. If you are not too critical then it is still a great film to see. The pace is good and the action enough to justify the genre.

This is indeed a fine crime thriller made in that typical Scandinavian way. Still always one of those nightmares of parents when daughter (it can also be a son) comes home with a dirty type (brushed off or not).

A dilemma also for this father who takes the law into his hands against the will (and knowledge) of the daughter. A film that is straight forward. There are no unforeseen twists or an extra (sub)plot is not created unnecessarily. No, it's about the kidnapping of the boyfriend and that's it. Perhaps there is also a lack of police investigation there. I think this could be further explored with some extra playing time, but then you ignore the fast powerful story.

The locations are also always great. That's why I love Icelandic cinema. I do wonder if a rear light for cyclists is mandatory in Iceland or not ...

Gloomy and very depressing film that makes you think; afterwards I had to take a deep breath for all that misery. I saw a kind of variant of Villeneuves Prisoners in this. A civilian takes the law into his own hands to help his daughter. The father is here is really not doing well; his judgment is so clouded that justice is out of the question. Emotions are poorly controlled and degenerate into irrational actions. The outcome is bitter and the father loses his daughter despite everything, but this time it is his own fault..
Not bad but brought cold and dry, typical Icelandic style and by Kormakur, who is Iceland's numero uno director, this time also the main actor.
