Goryachiye Novosti plot

When a gang of robbers runs into the hands of a police team, it results in a gunfight after which the robbers manage to escape. This embarrassing display of the police was also coincidentally caught on film by a camera crew and broadcast across the country. This does not help public opinion about the police. The commander decides to adopt the idea of his extremely bright adviser and has her broadcast a reality program on television in which the police catch the same robbers. But the 'reality' turns out not to be so easy to manipulate..
